Misfire above 6000rpm is back

Thought I had cured the problem with a later chip but it seems to be back again, its coming and going but very annoying.

Ant ideas what it could be?

Hey Noisey, see my afternoon well spent thread, might be worth a try.

Mine does the same. It was cured by Magnecors for a while. My Exhaust cans are very black though, so I suspect it is getting plenty of fuel and the sparks are at fault? I am going to replace the coil pack first but will get the fuel filter changed at the next service just in case.

Interesting that one, I'll get myself a filter ordered, also my carbon canister is filling with fuel so need a new one. had a feeling there is a fuelling fault as mine kicks out black smoke when it does it, my coil pack isn't very old, magnecors didn't fix it either.

No faults, nothing shown on the diagnostic software, lambda adaptive is higher on one side than the other though.

No cats in place now, the ones removed are good condition though, maybe a sensor is out or maybe that fact its higher mileage for a speed 6 means the adaptive needs to be like that to get the correct running?

These are the symptoms that led to mine needing rebuilt....sorry!

• Dirty plugs (3 from one exhaust)
• High HC on same exhaust
• Dirty Exhaust (same one)
• Misfire above 6000rpm
• Big imbalance between 123 / 456 on adaptive maps (which were all over the place!)
• Mediocre compression (esp on cylinders as above)

Well the plugs look a nice colour, also the HC level was fine on the MOT (with cats back in) both exhausts are a little black though. I'm considering taking the engine out and giving it a refresh later this year as it's done a fair few miles for a Speed 6.

I think that just means the cats are working! Good that the plugs look normal though.

Do you have the diagnostic software? It might help to see where the maps are at.

Sounded fine to me when you passed me on the A3 about two weekends ago......LOL. I was in the white Peugeot and gave you the thumbs up as you passed.

I'm TVR-Less at the moment after selling the Tuscan, but on the hunt for a T350. Initially was considering a Sagaris, but think I'm going to settle of a T350 and keep a few pennies in the bank.
