Spotted this while rebuilding the top end but didnt think much of it, its just laid (literally) across the top of the throttle bodies next to the valve cover. The end is all taped up, it has a single wire which has "stepper" stamped on the yellow tag.

My heater hot/cold works ok so i pressume its nothing to do with this, it would not reach anyway?

I'm pretty sure the S6 uses a Vauxhall OEM loom, which has the provision to control idle speed via a stepper motor.

Since the S6 does not have this function, this wire is a spare.

Later cars also had a connector for a "Knock Sensor" which the Speed 6 does not have.
