MK2 heater questions
Discussion
On a MK2 Pod heater screen what do these values mean ?
CL PR IC WV
I'm asking as on a long journey the air con stops working after about 2 hours. I think the PR and WV go to off at this point. After a long while it starts working again.
Also I just had my car serviced and the driver's cold air only vent has stopped working - no air comes out - presumably the pipe has become disconnected. Before I take it back does anyone know where the pipe is routed so I can check for an obvious problem first ?
btw no problems on the latest service, done about 19k now car is tight as a nut. I don't drive it as far each year as I did my Mk1 (had about 28k on that after 4 years) but I feel it's a much more robust build.
Next thing is an iPod connection I think.....
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi Andy,
I cannot help, but I was wondering which dash you have, the first MK2 dash, or the later convertible dash. I ask as my dealer implied to me the first MK2 was a bit troublesome with regard to electrical problems, so I'm wondering if it's been reliable for you? Do you have the later tinted dash screen fitted?
cheers

CL = cluch (the cluch on the refridgerant pump)
PR = power on, I think ( only seen it go off when the system is dead)
still cant work out the other 2
WV seems to go from on to off if you turn the heater up
Mine went off after long journey once I think it probably overheated or something daft

I've got the original Mk2 POD - but with the FOC screen colour change so you could see it with the roof off. I've had no problems with it other than the occasional random characters all over the display - easily fixed by using the steering column adjuster to move the steering wheel up/down and in/out.
CL is definitely clutch. I think PR goes on/off with turning the blue light on and off - I'l check. WV is interesting as mine as well changes at a certain heat setting.

Heater amplifier overheated or burnt out?
Think 'Power' do and exchange service £70-80 ish
I had same issues and re-located mine to cool the amplifier better

IC ... Iceing Control

I know the tus2 was far more advanced than the saggy in many respects, so does yours have the watercontrol valve fitted?WV ... Water Valve

... I'll find out from the experts and let you know Graham. The cold air pipe had become disconnected in the passenger footwell area. A control box was taped to the pipe and had pulled it down and off. Also my 100amp fuse (well the one under the airbox) had cracked and had separated a couple of days ago, so I'll see if my aircon turns off again and check what the pod values are, given these fixes.
Hats off to Str8 Six who got it all sorted whilst I waited. It's the first time I've been there in person and I haven't met such an enthusiastic, knowledgable and helpful bunch before. The spirit of TVR lives on!
