I've only had it since Sept but there are a couple of reasons that the car may have to go. Firstly there may be a chance I could get my hands on a GT40, and secondly, could be relocating to Oz. Although if I can get a GT40 then I think i'd stay here!
Its a 2003 (53 reg) Tuscan S. One of the new 400+BHP models. It has Nebula Black paint job, lamonta trim and non-standard sports exhaust cans. 3000 miles on the clock, no major problems so far. The most annoying thing is a squeaky rear screen, which will hopefully be sorted soon! Engine is great, starts first time and idles happily at 700 revs. Red and black interior and black alloys.
I had a look around at other cars for sale, but the price on the 400+BHP cars did increase. I think to around 52,200 for the Standard S, excluding the paint. Can someone give me an estimate please?
Thanks
Stephen

Not sure how much help this will be, but it may give you a benchmark.

I've been toying with the idea of building a GT40.
If an 03 S is 48K from a dealer, you would be looking at -5K for private so 42-43K

Surely a car thats only 3 months old wouldn't be that far below a dealer price? After all the car still has 20 months engine warranty with the factory. I understand the difference with older cars, but a private buyer would be well protected from anything going wrong.

Plus, the price of the Tuscan S went up after the 03 plates, so the 53 plates were more expensive. It was quite a big jump if i recall correctly. 2000+

I know mate, but private sales at that sort of price range can be difficult. A dealer expects to maintain his margins whatever the age of the car, I know somebody who was offered 20K for a 2000 Tuscan (very nice car) on a TRADE IN.

What price virginity?
When you bought it what would you have paid for a three month old one of same spec? £5K less, £8K less, £12K less or maybe you just would not have entertained it at all?
You paid for virginity? That costs I'm afraid.

Got offered more than any figure quoted, by a TVR dealership. Along way from 40k too.
