Drain plug?!!

Hi, simple question, silly question (!), can anyone tell me where the oil drain plug is situated!! Ta.

I presume you are looking to change the oil? It is a dry sump engine?

Yep, got a mechanic mate of mine doing the oil change for me and we do know its a dry sump engine but he says he's looked everywhere to drain the old oil out but to no avail, are we missing something obvious here?

never having done an oil change I cannot say how all the oil is extracted but some is done by sucking it out and depending on how dedicated the mechanic is then you get more out. I believe that with the best will in the world you always end up leaving about 2 litres in.

Early versions have no drain plug in the engine sump.

Later versions do, but still leaves oil in the engine.(offside above near ARB)

Modified versions let all the oil drain out of the engine.

if you look on the back of the oil tank there should be a hex bolt towards the bottom by the chasis rail.
