Does anyone know anything about the Blue flame performance tailpipes? Are they straight through, sleeved or similar to the original standard cans? I am looking for some cans to get the noise level down on a decatted Tuscan with CCC's evil, for track days!

I tried a pair on my Tuscan when they first came out, 20 minutes later my old sleeved can were back on and banging and popping nicely.

Also found the DB busters had no effect what so ever.

Hi Al,
Were your sleeved cans the original factory fit cans. I remember seeing your car when we met at Goodwood but can't remember what cans you had at the time.

I spotted those, that's what made me ask! They do look good but from what Big Al says don't seem to offer much. wink

could some one post a link to them so I can see what they are? I have a number of spare pipes, not for sale though.

So de catted.

I have a set of carbon cans sleeved, not measured the sound but would bet they are about 108Db

If I fit a standard? blue flame can then the level is down to 100Db

Using the ACT cans designed to kill noise the level drops to about 95.

So it depends on where you want to be in terms of sound. If I saw a link I could say if they were similar to the ones I have.

Hi Mike, yep standard cans, that were sleeved by Fernies.

120 DB at 4000 rpm. evil

I'm not saying don't get a set of BF's just see if you can arrange to try a set prior to purchase. I mean they look the mutt's, they just didn't do it sound wise for me.

I've just fitted a pair of blue flame exhausts to the Tuscan, mine are straight through pipes (standard can style) so sound exactly the same as my old CCC's. I presume you can order with baffles or not.

Given the regulations around sound, I would spend my money on a pair from ACT. They will cost more but meet your needs long term. Resale opportunity and value is greater since they will be more in demand for a track day attendee. These cans may get you down to about a 100 which will still leave you not getting into a number of events.

Sorry to go off topic...

666svt - Was that a power run or just tuning? the reason i ask is there is no obvious wideband for tuning but if its a power run he is trailing the brake on run down, would this not trick the dyno into thinking thats there is higher resistance and increase the compensation % for Whp to FWhp
