Hi all,
Got my Mk2 Tuscan 3 weeks ago and had to leave her parked up outside for the last 3 weeks while away.
Got back yesterday, started no problem, 50 mile spin to wake her up, all is fine.
Today, wont start, flat battery. Jump wouldnt held so new battery.
Started no problem but when I locked her up, noticed the dash stays lit up ?????
Guess thats why my battery was flat this morning if the problem had started yesterday. I can hear a humming noise like a relay or something.
She saw a lot of rain in the last 3 weeks but she seems dry inside.
Had to disconnect new battery so that I can check tomorrow but has anyone any ideas please.
Any comments welcome.
Thanks,
Tony.

Had this very error myself on my late (curvy dash/twin dial) Mk2 - also about 3 weeks after getting it!
As I couldn't get it in to a garage for a few weeks and the daughter's wedding was coming up, as a workaround I put a 100A breaker between the battery -'ve terminal and the earth strap - that stopped the the overnight drain, then all I did was turn it on when I wanted to use it.
Humming noise I took to be small motors running somewhere - seemed to emenate from the dash area, anyway.
Garage tried all the re-plugging/reconnecting tricks but the final fix was a re-worked dash-ecu and a new alternator (putting out 10v) although not sure if the alternator was as a result of/caused the dash-ecu failure or was purely coincidental.
Cost me 2 batteries as well.
Oh, and try getting in and pushing the brakes, this also made my dash switch off!

I had a nasty scare from the relays - acrid smoke in the cockpit and a bit of an engine stutter then it carried on OK.
After switching off I could hear the fuel pump still running and the relay was burning hot. Tiny bit of water ingress had seeped in and shorted the relay. Worth popping them all out once a year for a clean and squirt of water repellant.
Only fault in 10k miles though. £12 from Vauxhall instead of £30 from TVR for the relay
