Forgot to mention at the time the engine went they had just seviced the car new brakes front and rear.
Seems a shame to get rid tried to sell it a while back then decided against it.
The car is wrapped in some kind of protective clear film so no chips and comes with a car cover, spare exhust pipes [the original ones]full history !!
Oh sod it I cant sell this summer too much money spent not to have one last blast.

I paid 13k for mine over 12 months ago - they aren't selling for much less now
but with a rebuild even now I'd be thinking £16K easy. A warranty on the engine from Tiv Power n all that. Stick to your guns as there aren't going to be that many with a warranted engine and there are a reasonable sized pool without.......
and its a good colour and a 4L (from your profile) don't be duped into taking a low price.

Fair play to you for risking one without a rebuild, but you could be facing a £7k bill in the near future, anyone who buys one with a TVR Power rebuild and warranty has got two years virtual worry free motoring. That in itself HAS to be worth £2.5K over what you paid?
I bought one with a supposed rebuild, i paid more than i had wanted to for the car with the rebuild and right spec, but i have since found out it hadnt been done properly - and im fortunate i bought from a dealer otherwise i would be right in the cp@p. Peace of mind is expensive with TVR's but people are willing to pay it.
you are right about better buying one with a rebuild but that's like a betting with your eyes closed.(how long ago/who did it/ only top-end)
there was one for sale (15500) with a top-end rebuild (2004)but i believe rebuilds in 2004 were poor quality.
There was a 2000/rebuild last year/superb condition/low mileage for the same price i have payed for mine but somebody else beat me to it.
asking prices are not the same as the price people tend to accept
and it seems to be true that there are cars that don't need a rebuild
if i do need a rebuild i rather have it done myself. then i know what i have and lots of the work we can do ourselves. Son is a mecanic working in a racing team

You must be joking,, £18.000 for a nearly 10 year old tuscan.. You could buy a 2002 tuscan s for that money and with a rebuild...................Robertjp said:

and if you do the taking apart and fitting yourself its even cheaper
it's an easy engine to work on
