There was a thread about the reversing lights recently (can't find it now )

Could be the reverse light switch bracket is not aligned quite right so is not making a good contact or maybe a wiring problem (poor earth, dodgy bayonette contacts etc.)

Yes, I've had trouble with an intermitant reverse light. I've had to resort to using a carpet covered spare tyre attached to the back wall of the garage!! If anyone knows how to find the previous threads on this issue, let us know.

I had a reversing light that only worked when the gear leaver was in precisely the right position whilst in reverse. I'm not sure what it was that was wrong but the dealer sorted it out while they fixing other stuff and, becuase there was no charge, leads me to believe that they forgot to charge for it [unlikely] or it was a very simple quick fix.

I have had this on mine, the dealer advised it is a relay/switch which required adjusting. I don't beleive it is anything major to worry about, but it is a bit frustrating.

hi thanks for the replies, my dad took it to topcats today for me whilst i was at work. they said it was something to with a washer that may have been left out when someone has taken the gear box apart, this washer keeps the gear stick tight (as mine moves quite easily) therefore it is not making a good connection. it seems quite easy to fix but causes a few problems when left out.
