Gaz Gold Pro settings
Discussion
Assuming they have about 30 adjustment steps like mine, I run them at 14 clicks from soft on the front, 18 on the rear - that's for fast road use, or when the car is heavily loaded. If I'm pootling without any camping stuff in the boot I have run them happily at 12f / 14r, although that does feel a bit *too* comfy at times!
No, the Gold Pro's should only have 21 clicks giving a better adjustment range.
What rear springs are on it - 300 or 325 lb ?
Around 8 clicks is a good starting point (for rears) providing your ride heights have been properly set. Did you drive it for a bit after fitting them before setting up, as they may not have been fully bedded in and may need readjusting ?
I tested mine against a Griffith 500 last night and it was massively stiffer - the Griffith bounced up and down by hand while mine barely moved.
It also depends on your driving style, speed and type of bumpiness. Mine now feels planted at silly speeds on bumpy B roads, up to the point where it gets airborne on long undulations. Still a bit crashy on potholes and deep manhole covers but even at slow speeds they need to be avoided anyway.
Best thing is to drive it lots and keep changing the setting until you are happy as there is no set rule. They should be fitted so you can easily adjust the knob while the car is sitting on the road. Try and get the front feeling right before doing the rear, or you won't be able to tell what effect the change makes.
