Just when things were going well...

What a great day, sun was out and the Tuscan was let loose with the roof off and the rear screen out... Loving the drive untill at a round about my clutch was left planted to the floor and i couldnt change gear etc. Had to sort of keep pressing it to get the clutch up sort of etc...

Struggled to get home tried to pick routes where i wouldnt need to touch the clutch... Im lucky i had my hot start problem solved as it could have been even worse trying to start the car when it had stalled due to the clutch issues...

When the car went in for a 24k service they said that the clutch slave cylinder was on its way out. So im assuming this is what has gone? Could it be the actual clutch itself? Whats peoples opinions on the raceproved clutches?

I find myself fighting a loosing battle with this car...

Was due to be going Goodwood with it Saturday Hoping i can get it sorted before then and the cost is not too great...

Different car I know but I had the same problem in my last Supra. The clutch pedal would go down but not come back up. Turned out to be the clutch release bearing.

Anyone have any experience of Raceproved clutch slave & clutch, or best to stick with standard?

Wierdest thing is now that i went into the car just to see what it might be. Foot on and off the Clutch and no stickyness and not getting left on the floor?!?!

Now im totally spooked. Can this be anything to do with the clutch slave cylinder on its way out as the garage said?

I have exactly the same issue. Clutch pedal to the floor and it stayed there .

Left the Car for 3 hours and went back and everything was OK

Took it back the the garage who two weeks ago had fitted a new clutch and he replaced the slave cylinder (again - but with a raceproved one) and all other clutch related seals.

Everything fine since (+2 years)

I had the exact same problem, it was the master cylinder sticking, the pedal would push the piston in and then the piston would stick and not release, once I removed I found the ,master cylinder was corroded, lucky they are fairly easy to fit and only about £45

I had the same problem with a Saab 9000, the master and slave cylinder needed replacing. You could try pumping the peddle, that may cause the clutch to rise enough so that the car can be driven short distances.

If the clutch pedal goes down and won't come back up it wont be the slave cylinder causing it, the diaphragm pushes the cylinder backwards, it will almost definitely be the master cylinder.

Mate i hope your luck gets better soon - my luck isnt too hot at the moment either.

Cant really help on the clutch front other than has been suggested - i.e. that its one of the cylinders. I think when its the diaphragm / fingers its difficult / impossible to engage a gear...
