Break-down cover is advisable. We use RAC 5 star european cover and they have always been good when needed. Track cover not possible, lots of folk will tell you it is, but your car will not be insured on the Ring.

Go with an open mind and you will enjoy it as ong as there arent too many Brits there...

Take spare 100 amp fuse and throttle cable and one or two relays. Also consider taking some compatible brake/clutch fluid.

been on the ring several times
take it easy
every day cars get towed off (total damage)
you'll drive there with a lot of idiots in beamers and other crap
every bend can give new driving situations (dry/wet)
you'll never learn the track because it's yust too long
BUT IT"S WORTH THE DRIVE

Yes it exists. Most cover UK only track days but can negotiate overeas events. Most specifically exclude the ring TF which is not actually an organised track day. Its a very grey area whcih I'm sure will end up in court at some point )if its hasnt already...) with some Legal Eagle trying to argue that its a public toll road and therfore normal insurance applies.

Took mine in May. Word of warning, I spent 2 days phoning around all specialist and standard insurers. Nobody, absolutely nobody, would give me 3rd party cover for the ring on TF days. Thus you could be banged up by the german police if they find out.

I took the usual fuses, toolkit, yellow coat, warning triangle, GB sticker, etc.

Car never missed a beat and was brilliant. I did 4 laps and really enjoyed it, although I took my time and didn't push the car hard.
