Windows open/car locked/engine dead...
Discussion
Been looking forward to a drive in the Tuscan (Mk1) this weekend so opened up the windows, cleaned the inside and then closed the door to let her air. Upon return an hour later I tried to open the doors...nothing happened. Tried to unlock and relock the car using the key...nothing. Checked the battery is full by leaning through to the cig lighter and my reader said it was fine. Do you think my old old key has finally given up the ghost? My other key is in the procress of being found and sent to me. However, wanted your guys thoughts in the mean time in case i am missing something. I have tried to turn the ignition through the window while pressing in the middle of the key...but nothing happens.
Every thought welcome!! Thanks

You could have knocked the anti-hijack (door lock button) between the radio and pod when cleaning, although unsure if this would have remained active with the doors open and then locked when the door closed. If a problem with immobiliser try using the plastic key in the slot next to the door lock.
Reach in and pull the emergency door release, you can then get in and try things out. You should be able to get the ignition on, dash display etc wit just eh key in and switched to the second position. Once you in it mioght be worth pulling the alarm control out inspecting for moisture and putting it back in.
