Bugger!!
she went in for a service yesterday, and when i got home from work today i found out that she has to go to coventry for a long holiday for another rebuild!!!
quite bad timing as i finish work for two weeks tomorrow and was looking forward to some drive time considering i've only had her a month! also have to pospone the two day ride-drive! doh.

its something to do with part of the timing chain breaking off, causing the engine to keep flooding and very low compression. has anyone else had this problem? do you know how much it might cost and how long the holiday will last!!!(i imagine its going to be a while, cos of Xmas)

See this thread....

Goog luck and hope it doesn't cost too much.

Might be worth speaking to Bell Hill garage as they break TVRs and generally have S6 engines in stock (dunno about guarantees though)

Would be interested to know what year your car is and how many miles it has, has it already had an engine job done or is that the first visit ?

Mine's a 2001 Y reg Speed Six. Had just over 14,000 on the clock when it went in, first rebuild (finger followers). Castle did say it was slightly unusual for finger followers to have lasted that long, if they were going to go at all!

Only took it back as I got shunted in traffic (woman holding both baby and mobile phone rolled into the back of me at lights) and it needs a small touch-up job. They happened to hear the problem coming when they were moving the car! Lucky for me, would prefer that than the thing just "letting go" on the road somewhere...
