overheating problem
Discussion
Hi all, just wondered if anyone could help. ive recently had my tuscan in the garage because of a water leak, i was told it was the radiator, to which i had a new radiator fitted. but on using the car again noticed when i pulled up there was water leaking. So the next day took the bonnets off, topped the water up and left it running. the water is actually coming out of the expansion bottle lid. its not oily or anything. is this just me being daft and overfilling with water (normally fill to bottom of elbow) or is it common to need to replace bottle lids, or a more serious problem. overheating seems to happen around 95ish degrees at the time 1 fan is running.

Buy new cap and screw on really tight

And buy it from Halfords or similar for £2 or so, not from a TVR specialist for £15!P
FWIW I find my Tuscan usually blows off coolant until there is about 1 litre less than in the system than there should be. Doesn't seem to have caused any harm yet.

Thanks guys, ill pop out and get another cap tomorrow, fill it to the elbow and leave it running. if water comes out ill catch it in a jug just so i no too much has'nt come out, then if it settles and seems happy at that, jobs a good one. thanks a lot for the replies
