Hi
any suggestions. Car turns over but wont start - think I can hear fuel pump coming in. Battery states 9.9v immediately on turning the key to start - could this be the cause of not starting?

Cheers

Try connecting a known good battery in parallel with the existing one, you should have 12v at the ecu even when cranking.

sounds like the battery is not carrying sufficient charge. is it struggling to turn over?

Is this when the engine is hot or cold?

thanks for replies - engine was warm when it happened but not had any probs with hot starting before. Seemed to be turning over OK - didnt sound like battery was on way out.

I had this problem...
Check the fuse for the coil pack... if this goes you wont have a spark and it will give you the symptoms that you are getting now...

Its located in the main fuse box by the pedals...not sure what location number it is.

Fuse No17 diagram shows 15 amps, but later cars were changed to 20 amps.

Just an update - apparently all fuses are fine and looks like an ECU problem. This is being sent for diagnostics - didn't realise how pricey this was! Hopefully I won't need a new ECU but the car is still under warranty with £1000 pound claim limit so hopefully that will offset most of the cost.
