Just about to buy a new set, but before I do, thought it was worth asking if anyone has any suggestions for a better option than the original equipment? i.e. a blade that works well and doesn't 'scream'

Thanx

I changed mine for the Bosch wiper blades 21/21S the 'S' is the spoiler type which is fitted on the drivers side. They are quiet in operation & the driver side one does not bounce around on the screen at speed as the orignal one did.

Is the wiper blade slightly lifting off the windscreen at 70(ish) a standard feature then? I thought it was special speed limiter on my car!!!!

I had this happen to me on the A46 on Boxing Day at XXX mph. It was a bit not to mention more than a little to say the least!

Have to look out for those Bosch wipers.

Anything over 100 and you can vaguely make out that the wipers are there. Anything further away than that is a mystery.

Good advice though. I'm gonna swap with the Bosch blades on my Mondeo (same size) when I get home and see if it makes any difference.

You can get the Bosch wipers at Halfords, have them on my car and recomend them (and need to replace them soon)

Halfords also do Rain-X, cover the screen in this and then speeds of xxx do not require wipers at all! Also helps keep the side and rear windows clear as the Rain-X encourages the water to bead and roll off the window

Followed your advice and fitted a set this week-end, got the opportunity to test them out this morning - much better than the original equipment, certainly quieter, and the drivers' side certainly doesn't bounce around like the OE. Had to slightly bend the drivers-side arm to ensure full contact along the whole blade.
Thanks for your advice
