What makes you keep your Tuscan? rolleyes

Personally i like how its something different and not mass produced. Something special...
Amazing performance for a very reasonable cost...
I like the TVR club sort of attitude, everyone is friendly, happy to help and if i see another on the road they will give a little wave...
I like how everything is pretty crazy the dash, the design, even just opening the doors...
I love how things are put together quite simply which means even a novice can have a tinker around...
I like how you feel like you are actually driving the car e.g. no driver aids. Think you respect it more in some ways... Sometimes can be quite scary.Lol.

What i dont like is the scary thought of a rebuild...
I have thought about chopping in for another newer Tuscan however i think people are right when they say you become attached once you have carried out a few bits on your car...
I dont like the fact i have a list of things i would like to do including a retrim and respray one day...haha... Although i guess thats what keeps things interesting...
I dont like thinking back on how much i have spent on the car since i bought it...
I do miss the handling of my last mid-enginded car frown Was a dream on country roads although i am going to attempt to get it set up properly to see if it helps...

Anyways thats just some of my thoughts of my ups and downs over the past i duno 4/5 months... Whats yours?

every time I see it in the garage or start it up. It just reminds me of being 16 when I first saw one at the Tuscan challenge at castle combe. At that moment I told myself I would have one one day.

Even with the engine rebuild looming I still cant wait to have it back better than ever. So much so I am selling my every day runner/project to fund it (ok the every day runner has ran 2 times in 8 months lol)

drove in my lotus SE Turbo only yesterday (sold it last year in order to buy the tuscan)
it still drives super and really kicks you in the back when the turbo cuts in
because of a lot of modifications (big bore turbo, ram air etc) it's a super fast car but it's to nice.
the tuscan is like a rascal and at this moment i like that more

Every time I look at it, it reminds me of a beastie, crouched waiting to pounce. I like the way it makes MX5's shiver. I like the way boy racers don't even bother trying it on. I love the way my mother in law jumped out of her skin when I fired it up in the garden.

I like the way it makes me chuckle like a naughty school boy when its dry and you can plant the throttle in the carpet in 3rd all the way up the revs.

Oh and the fact that when i turn up at my parents and walk in they dont know I have arrived as they thought it was a plane going over laugh

Awesome sound, awesome look, awesome feel,
I always think this car wants to kill me,
so not for pampered drivers.

Because Porsches are for girls only - TVR

IMHO it is the public's opinion of the car that keep me going - young, old, male, female, from aged classic car nuts to little kids on my street - "nice motor mate!" is the common call.

Bikers, cyclists and pedestrians all give the thumbs up. Reps wind down their windows and slow down so you can roar past.

I am known locally as "The TVR guy"

My perception is that only something alot more expensive would create a similar reaction?

For me it is the outrageousness of the concept
Outrageously attractive
Outrageously styled
Outrageously noisy and
Outrageously quick for the price

TVR Tuscan's, absolutely guaranteed to cause attention wherever they go. Accept no alternative.

(and i dont think there is an alternative!)

2. I grin stupidly just looking at it
3. The menacing looks
4. The noise of the cans hitting cam - screeching banshees
5. The sense of an event every time I open the garage doors
6. The looks it recieves from all
7. The sad way I try to see the cars reflection in shop windows
8. I even enjoy cleaning it

Loads more but I sound like a saddo now

In the carpark it's like the supermodel at the mingers ball.
I get used to it after a while until I stop for fuel for e.g. and always get some comment "that's a really beautiful car" etc.
I also get used to the speed in traffic until I leave the traffic. On Monday I turned off the main road to a country side road just behind a guy on some big bike who opened it up, thought "Wonder if I could catch him" - I could biggrin
Getting it out of the garage and getting in at just above ground level with those 4L grumbling down the drive to get out on the road is always a pleasing overture to the main event.
I like not having to slow down for many corners.
Taking the top off - I never thought much of open-topped cars until I got it, as far as I was concerned it was a coupe where the roof did this funny thing - I'm now a big fan of al-fresco motoring.
The wife thinks its great.
The boys think its great - "Dad, can you come and pick me up? ..........Do you fancy coming in the Tuscan?"
Always an event and never disappointing, like owning a mobile sculpture.
