De-cat pipes and fuelling

Will decatting the tuscan affect fuelling?

will i need a chip of some type or remap?

What de-cat pipes are recommended?

Yes you should get a re-mapped chip. TVR Power do a de-cat chip and pipes

just ordered from tvr power.

the chaps said the chip isnt required unless im seeking a power gain.

This is aimed at anyone that could give a definitive answer, "If you remove the cat material and run your car with just the empty cans then you should...." This could include changing the empty cans for a better flowing case? A different chip because...

I am interested in understanding the changes that are made by doing this but have not heard any consistent advice.

i dunno, i thought id need to increase fuelling a little, but the guy at tvr power (one of the tech's) said its not necessary and that the ECU does a good enough job of adjusting.

IS anyone else running decats without a chip?

The question is for how long, that is the only true test and I have no idea if it is a problem and how that would mainifest itself.

well id expect the worst case is the car running a little lean and causing some chance of det due to increased cylinder temps.

However, the ECU will adapt based on lmabda value to a degree, and TVRP tech said it'd be ok, so thats fine by me.

I've been running mine de-catted for some time now without a modified ECU. On a recent rolling road test, the air/fuel ratio was spot on throughout the whole rev range. Only bit of hassle is that you'll need to take your car to a TVR friendly MOT station if you don't change the chip.
