Hi,

Took a trip from Holland to Goodwood. Had a perfect ride and a perfect event. Only issue was some stupid, maybe jealous person putting a burning cigaret on my bonnet at a hotel parking in Canterbury. It left a dark burned spot and lots of ash on the paint. Is there a way to polish it out. I have a dark blue-ish color (Space Halcyon Pearl).

Read a few recently of vandalism like this. Small minded, pea brained, scum.
Can only offer sympathy but cant advise if you can polish it out, sorry.

No picture yet, Well it is only the discoloration which shows a black spot. No rough surface or paint coming off, so maybe it's not very deep. I'm not very sure how to start with solving this problem. I thought maybe a good polish will take it out, but I'm not sure.

I would suggest trying the bodywork and detailing forum + adding it is a TVR.

I would take it to a professional.

By the time you have dicked about and bought the right compounds it will work out about the same cost and be considerably less worrying.
