I understand that like most things people could opt to not have the DAB radio. So yours may have the radio it came with. For instance my S has the DAB but no bee sting aerial?
I have a 2002 and the radio is a pioneer DEH-P4400R and I believe it is the original unit. Search the Pioneer site and they have manuals for download.
I have seen the units on ebay occasionally. Additionally, I believe there is another part associated with the DAB unit elsewhere in the car. Check some other threads for info, although I'm sure someone will tell us what it is. I seem to remember something like there is a little box [very technical I know!!] hidden in the wing or something?
As an aside the radio and speakers are pretty crap and are drowned out by the exhaust note anyway - total bliss!

My 2003 non-S has a DAB radio. It's a Pioneer GEX-P900, basically a small grey box mounted behind a carpeted panel in the boot by the catch and the CD autochanger, plus a bee sting aerial in the middle of the boot lid. It connects in to the Pioneer head unit via the CD changer bus connection.

Indeed, the DAB receiver is behind the panel that the CD changer is mounted on. However, I dont seem to recall an aerial anywhere on the car... (only had the car for 5 months, so might not have paid close attention..!!!:-))
Not sure what good it is anyway.. I cannot see the display of the head unit very well, dont seem to be able to figure it out, and there was no manual with the car. Plus, its got a casette player!!!

OH! On another thread I asked what the box was thats behind the round rubber grommet in the boot; Is this the DAB module then?
It has a sealed lead acid battery taped to it.
I have no CD changer. Am I to assume that it would normally be mounted on the square panel to the right of the boot catch as you look in from above?

How big is that box you are talking about? Imagine the DAB receiver to be the size of a small book... It actually says on it DAB or something like that. Dont think I would have figured out what it was otherwise!!

Well on mine, as you look in from above, on the left of the catch there's a round rubber grommet about 6" diameter. Inside is a steel box with a rectangular battery taped to it.
On the right as you look in is a larger square panel held on by four screws and has a section of carpet over it. I havn't investigated whats behind it yet - gonna today.

Regarding how the DAB radio works, I have no clue. The few minutes I dedicated in finding out how it works were only when I was stuck in traffic.. So, ended up getting the radio stations on the FM band rather than the DAB.
If you manage to find out how it works, or if you find the manual of the radio, then please post it..

Well the manual for the DAB converter is available for download here:

It doesn't SAY that its compatible with the radio in my car, but it does seem to work; Just that there's no DAB here for it to receive!
Press the SOURCE button to get to EXTERNAL then the preset buttons are DAB channels. I'm printing it now to see how to scan.
