Thanks Nel - do you have experience of using these aftermarket cats?
Quality?

Mine's de-catted, but someone I know has bought some and they're fine.

They just show what a rip-off the 'standard' ones are...

I have them (MOT use only). They are okay for that. After MOT I decat.

I bought a pair from Eurocats via ebay for MOT purposes. The flanges needed a quick clean up to get rid of some weld splatter but other than that they're ok and got my Tuscan through the test.

I've been told that's all they're good for. Apparently the 'matrix' inside is only a quarter as thick as an original and prone to burning out quickly, no experience so happy to be corrected but worth mentioning as I believe broken cat material can be sucked back into the engine.

to be fair most CATS are aftermarket and I'm fairly certain TVR have never made them.

Check out Ebay.com if you are not in a hurry. You can get performance cats well cheap.

Not sure how many you need. Magnaflow make some good cermaic ones with 3" inlet/outlet and it cheap price too. (check their site.)

These are about as good as you can get on a budget IMO.

If you want the best flowing cat you need to go for a metal matrix one. Companies like Magnaflow and Random Technology make these, they flow much better than ceramic ones but cost a lot more, they also like plenty of heat to work efficiently.
