I locked the Tuscan earlier, went to get back in quickly as realised I had left my phone in the car, but for some reason the alarm switched off but the door buttons and boot button wouldn't work, I had tried to get into the passenger side as that side was closest.
I left the car a while, went up the lady I was collecting and had a coffee, but then when I came back out the problem was still there, I couldn't get into the car so ended up managing to get the back window out, then undid the window and used the emergency handle, once inside the car the inside door buttons worked fine but no amount of starting and turning off allowed me to open any door or boot.
I drove the car home to swap over to the other car but by the time I got to my garage it was all back to normal and working fine. needless to say the date wasn't too impressed at me having to climb into the car via the back window
The passenger side button has played up in the past, also Friday night someone has hit the mirror breaking the glass, looks like they maybe kicked it as the glass was completely out of the mirror on the kerb side so wasn't a passing car.
Its awkward now as don't want to get stuck with the same problem again, also can someone email the normal access route as when I tried what I thought it was I could see no way to release the lock

I have a tempormental drivers door button - about one time in 10 it does not respond.
Have to open pass side, open driver window then lean in the car and open the driver door with internal button (which always works)
Be interested to know the solution for this - I assume its the control box (by the gearstick?)

Mine did the same then eventually stopped working, right before MOT was due.
The contacts are pretty flimsy connectors, and water oftern gets in there being on the wing mirror and corrodes them.
Best thing to do is angle the mirror as far as it will go one way and pull the glass unit out. Don't be shy with it as it wont break and will pop out as the mirroe is set on a simple bracket/ cradle which is easily popped back in afterwards.
You can then unscrew the internal mechanism inside easly and pull that out but you may be able to see the connectors ok without doing that.
A new button is available from clevor trevor for about £18 i think.

I also reckon there is a wiring (and possibly ECU) link between the passenger door release and the boot release - if the passenger door is playing up it does seem to affect the boot release mechanism. I've often wondered if anyone else had noticed this in their Tuscan.

the first time it happened to me was when asked to open my boot when waiting to board a ferry, I'm sure customs thought I had something to hide
