My speedo goes a bit epileptic over 100mph. It bounces around all over the place. Is it a common problem, how much to fix usually??

Shame on you driving above 100mph Mine was playing up but at all speeds or it didn't work at all. Pick up on the diff was to blame and I believe TVR have just brought a mod out. Mine was fixed under warranty but not expensive.

How fast are you going? When I go really fast, I dare not even look down at it!

Not had this issue personally, but it is well documented. May need an adjustment to the speed sensor, or even a new speed sensor. I'm sure someone else will shed more light on this.

Probably worth a call to Gorners for advice?

I had that as well.As soon as i hit 120,it would flip right over to max until i turned it off and then on again. Then the speedo didn't match the digital, about 10mph differance.
I think the speedo thingy was £60+VAT with about £40 labour.
I have also heard of people on here cleaning them??
I know nothing about it but i'm sure someone will know.

Quite straight forward problem. If the digital readout goes mad at the same time, you'll need the speed sensor adjusted/cleaned or replaced. If the digital readout is fine, the pod goes back to the factory for 1 week to be fixed.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Andy.

I had the problem of steering column wobble at 97mph and above on my new 53 plate Tuscan, the problem was so severe that the tyres were changed from toyos to goodyear f1 eagles.I can now drive well over 100 with no wobble at all.

If you're planning to take it to Gorners then you'll have to join the queue! Mine stopped working on Jan 1st and they haven't been able to fit me in yet . This is mainly due to the fact that their loan cars are all in use. (I'm having 30k service at the same time so will have to leave it with them)

Thread here if you're interested.

Nope, I will be taking it to Christopher Neils in Northwich , Cheshire. They have always given me excellent service and at a reasonable price.

Edited to ask, what loan cars do they use at Gorners?

I've always had TVR as a loan car from them, different cars each time, their main 'loaner' is a Chimaera. (450 - I think)

Thats probably why you have to wait so long for a loaner. Tend to get Toyotas from Chris Neils (there is a Toyota Dealership right next door), not much fun but it does mean I don't usually have to wait to take the car in.
They have also picked my car up and brought it back on a trailer free of charge (I live 50 miles away) when I had a rear damper go.

In fairness to them this is the first time I've had to wait. I know that they're stacked-out with work at the moment so I said I could wait a while. They've been very good to me in the last few month, so give and take and all that.

Maybe I'll see you at the Yorks/North West blatt!
