Bugger - changed LCD screen and now speedo stuck...

Replaced my LCD screen last night.

Was marvelling at the wonder of being able to read my LCD this morning on the way to work, then noticed that I was travelling at 130mph and my manual temp guage was throught the roof. Luckily I had a full tank of fuel.

A couple of minutes later I realised that actually it was more more likely that my analouge guages were not working.

What have I done? Was very careful putting it all back together.

Which connection and cable is the one that powers the guages?

All my digital stuff works OK - ie it is reading the correct temp and speed.

be interested in this too, my speedo has stuck. Its not the mechanisim as far as i can make out, because it has started and stopped a couple of times, at which point it sounded like a relay or microswitch jumped into action. Im getting diagnostic code A, same with you?

I did get a diagnostic code but assumed it was just because I had removed the pod. Driving this afternoon so will take another look.

Are all the pins back-in properly? It is possible to put all the boards together and for some of the pins to actually misalign?

Sorry to drag this post back up, but hoping for a little help on this issue, and fingers crossed you've sorted out your issue and will be able to help me out!

After taking the POD out to replace some LED's, and also to reseat the clear screen, but speedo and temp gauge are behaving oddly. They both seem to be unclear where "zero" should be, and so I assume they're not activating, or releasing, the microswitchs. The odd thing is I can see the speedo needle is activating the microswitch as I can hear it click???

I did try and look into the connections, but it seems you can only strip the POD down so far, once you get all the boards and display out the last circuit board seems to be permanently fixed between the two metal panels, any one have any ideas how I can seperate these to gain access to the microswitches??

It's not a major deal, my digital display is working fine, but don't like leaving little issues like this

Any pointers/hints much appreciated

It is a bit of a cryptic error message isnt it. It implies there is a way for the pod to register when the needle is at zero. Its driven by a stepper motor i think so i assume this is the way the system calibrates to know when the needle is round at zero. Then (another assumption) as it integrates the pulses from the speedo sensor, it looks to see the "zero switch" open to know that something is happening with the needle. So it *sounds* like there is some kind of problem with the switch to register zero *or* the speedo sensor input isnt doing anything.

When I had the clocks out on the Tam, there is a function in the menu settings to set the 'zero' for the speedo/tach. Don't know how you would do this ona Tusc. The tam uses the buttons on the back of the steering wheel. I would guess at it being the same buttons used to navigate the menus on the Tuscan pod
