Gents - what does this mean. Comes up randomly and infrequently?

From mytuscan site I've got - - E - Fuel level sensor not activating zero switch. Doesn't tell you a lot!! Everything working though.

At a guess.....

Inside the pod there is a micro-switch that the metal bt that shows your fuel level sweeps all the way until it presses the micro-switch - ie zero's it.

It then knows where to put your fuel level on the analogue display

I fixed my pod LCD screen and I had this problem afterwards with my temp gauge (do not think ik was exactly the same error)

I solved problem by taking pod back apart and checking all connections - worked fine afterwards.

mine has had this for 2 years and not been any issue - fuel gauge works just does seem to read less than zero when low on petrol, digital gauge is fine.

if i ever have a spare day........

local specialist says it nothing more than an annoyance.

Yes - it looks like the analogue is showing 'Full' - even though I've done +100 miles since fill-up.

Think I did brim the tank too full....which I'm sure I've read you shouldn't do. May be I'll take a look in the instrument pod over the Xmas break.

Follow-up!!
In the wonderful world of TVRs.....the analogue guage has started working now!!
Suspect it was caused by squeezing that last 0.3 litre into the tank!! Anyways, a few road bumps seem to have 'normalised' things.

If you lift the lining of your boot the bit on top of the tank, you'll find the fuel tank sensor (drivers side) ,make sure it's plugged in OK.

Again, thanks for the tips.

As mentioned, normal driving 'bumps' seem to have either 'operated' the fuel tank float - or - the microswitch (?) on the analogue guage when it went full scale (full). The error code is no longer being displayed.
