Light Weight Flywheel - A good choice?

Currently in the process of having the clutch replaced and have been tempted by the lightened flywheels offered by TVR Power/Raceproved and would like the thoughts of those that have done the same. I.e.
1. Does the engine feel noticeably more revvy? (have owned S2000 and bike powered cars before).
2. Does it feel any quicker?
3. Is the engine any rougher at idle?
4. If it's any better, why did TVR not supply it as standard?
Any pointers appreciated - I have to make a decision by Monday.

done this on my lotus before
yes the engine revs better/quicker and it idles less smooth
when you dont overdo it (dont make it to light) there's nothing wrong with fixing it
but
why spend that money
are you going to race the car ?
do you use the full potential of the car at this moment ?
do you want to show off at a childrens school ?
if there are more no's given on these questions keep the money in your pocket

Thanks RENS, I was looking for impressions from someone who has got a lightened flywheel in a Speed Six engine specifically. Ive lightened flywheels a number of times before and it has varying degrees of effect depending on primary/secondary balance of the engine , number of cylinders, harmonic balancer/shaft fitted etc.
So anyone had one one fitted to a Speed Six?

I had one fitted on mine when I had a new clutch fitted, engine definitely revs up a bit quicker, idle is as smooth as ever no difference at all in my opinion, to be honest the first drive after its fitted you notice the difference definitely, I would recommend it

Cheers Dean, just the sort of response I was looking for. My slight hesitation in going down the light flywheel route was the fact that the Speed Six engine has a crankshaft damper which is a bit unusual (although not unknown) on a seven bearing straight six. As well as the weekend hoon we also do a bit of touring so a degree of compromise is required. Was yours from TVR Power or Raceproved?

Well the dealer replaced the clutch under warranty (thanks Fernies) due to two broken diaphragm spring fingers (what a poor design it is) and they fitted a TVR Power lightened flywheel as well (my cost).
Was it worth it? absolutely no doubt in my mind. Engine noticeably smoother (and I was worried it would sent it the other way), could have been rough pre TVR Power fly due to missing fingers, but I doubt it would have made that much difference. The real benefit is the rate of pick up in 1st and 2nd when you mash the throttle, reminds me of my bike engined car days - love it.

Hmm, just had new clutch and new lightweight fly wheel fitted on mine too! (as well as a recon gearbox)

Any one else got one of these Raceproved or Power lightened flywheels fitted? Any comments?

I might get one fitted soon as my clutch slave seals need replaced, so may as well have it put in while the box is out as practically zilch labour charge to bolt it on.

Yep, have one fitted to mine. Raceproved FW with no complaints only +'s.

Appears less torque to me, but more hp

however original part wears and can cause clutch dragging and starter ring gear mismatch, so I would change it.

Thanks, I think I will have it changed to a lightweight one, probably a Raceproved one, and will also have the Raceproved alloy slave cylinder fitted.

That must be about a 3kg weight saving, making my mighty Red rose even faster

Actually, I will put it on the Surrey Rolling Road to see if any BHP does appear with the new flywheel, I got 367.7 BHP and 305 LB/FT 12 months ago after the last service, so will get it done again.
