Hit a pot hole last night and thought id punctured the tyre, got a flatbed to take me home, pumped it full of tyre weld and limped round to get the tyre replaced only to find a 3 inch dent on the inside of the rear wheel.

Anybody know anywhere round the guildford area who might be able to repair this, or do these injuries tend to require a whole new wheel?

any help please!

I think there has been a thread on here at some time about making a claim for pot hole damage.
Take pics of pot hole ASAP & wheel damage. Coupled with recovery documents etc etc....worth a try

yust buy a nw one for about 200 gpb
having it repaired is going to cost you 100ish but you will loose the tvr sign and hopefully the colour is the same.
keep the bent one as a spare

I had exactly the same in the cerb. I think it will be too much to repair, mine was, starts to harden and crack the alloy. Also be surprised if you make a claim stick, I got the "we inspected that previously and it was fine", you will only be able to claim if it had previously been brought to their attention and they had failed to act. Put it down to ( bitter,)experience and get a new spider, I got mine for £140.

Sorry to hear that. I had a similar incident a while back (in my old Jag though, not the Tuscan).

Email me through my profile for full details, but safe to say I managed to recover the full cost of tyre and alloy from Borough Council. Took a couple of months but got all money back. This was Windsor & Maidenhead MBC though, not Guildford. Just make sure you take photos of everything - including pothole (put scale next to it) and all receipts. It is possible.

maybe able to help wiith repair or replacement. He's a very helpful chap. Or Racing Green. Just make sure you receipt everything to send to council.

Ha ha. Yes, took some determination but managed in the end without having to involve solicitors. Not sure how I would get on now though - this was back in the day when potholes were the exception not the rule! The great plague of 2010 was still to come...

I just got cheque from the local Council for £216 to replace my dented alloy. Simple process of registering the claim on line, they sent a form, I completed it including pics of the road and the wheel. They approved the claim so I bought a new wheel and send them the invoice. OK so I had to chase a few times and it took 4 months in total but I got paid in the end

Wahey Nobby Diesel! Long time no speak! Potholes are not a new phenomenon albeit there are considerably more now due to the cold spell.
