took the car out last night all was well but on the way home fuel pump became very noisy and developed a miss fire.
dont think she will make it to a main dealer so will have a tinker .
just need to know location please and how to access

Passenger side rear wheel arch you will need the wheel off.

Beware of shearing the bolts in the chassis if you have to remove, they corrode badly. I snapped both trying to get the pump off, drilled and retapped the chassis with bigger, marine stainless bolts, with plenty of copperslip to boot.

Also, the fuel pipe is cheap crap so beware of that too, again, replaced mine in that area with some good quality stuff.

Strange fault tho, do you mean the engine was misfiring or you could actually hear the fuel pump doing something it shouldnt?

I guess is may be that one of the nuts has come of the threaded connector rods?

Maybe a stupid question, but you have got fuel in the tank? My guage stuck once and I didn't realise until it ground to a halt.

joined m5 gave it a bit and felt a miss fire pulled off at next junction and pump had gone from ussual buzz to sounding like a chain saw. definately noisy pump so have to have a look in morning
