Hi,

Today i found out that the dutch tax department has new rules on how to determine Tax when importing. Calculating the price when new based on the 2003 (dutch) price is not accepted.
Does anyone know the original price in the UK in 2000? Is there any way i can prove that (invoice/site?)

Thanks,
Maurice.

What is the difference in rules between 2009 and 2010? I think you still can choose between the old and new system?!

you can, but they (tell me they) don't accept using another car as a reference. You need to 'proof' the original price of the car. Although i doubt if really the rules changed, or if i just happened to get a grumpy officer. I'll try again on monday.

I imported a 2001 Tuscan last November. They did't find the Purchaseprice of 2001 in the system, so they took (again) the importprice of 2003. In the end they want to collect taxes (much as possible!)

it might be a long drive, but in a tvr certainly not dull
but i imported it in oktober in Groningen and Douane didn't give a toss, weren't even bothered to go outside and see the car themselves
and this is standard in Groningen

I went to Nieuwegein for RDW and Douane in april 2010 (Tuscan 4.0 june 2000)
DOn;t kno exactly the newprice but this is what they did :
- Took the guy to the Tuscan, seated him in the car and made him enthausistic
- Took 2003 newprice from a 3.6 Tuscan (was about 87000,=)
- Told him that cars were cheaper in 2000. They promised to take something off the price (don't know how much)
- Paid E 1721,= which I found reasonable....

you did that well.
Turned out that the guy who was there on monday was even less positive then the girl on friday. It was VERY busy (came in at 10.30, was ready at 15.30). In the end they accepted my calculations (at least he took them and posted them to headquarters).

We'll see....
