Can anyone advise me of a good replacement battery that won't require any major mods when fitting. I'm looking for something with a reasonably high cranking ability as I've been suffering from the hot starting problem.

The only battery to buy is the Red Top Optima.

Can be purchased here:

Its the only one to get online. If however you are looking for a standard battery for about £65 i recommend going down your local garage/ battery supplier as if it goes wrong you can take it back, I had a nightmare trying to return a faulty standard battery to a certain battery megastore (performancebatteries).

Thanks for the advice - is this a straight forward fit into the compartment?

Its actually a bit smaller than a standard battery so fits in a bit easier.

The side bracket does become useless though so take it off and stick it in the toolbox.

I bought 2 X luggage straps from ebay at £3.50 and strapped it in nice and snug.

Jobs a goodun wink
