I've just had a service done and decided I'd check fluid levels at the weekend.

However, the pull handle for the service bonnet is not releasing. I've checked and it's not locked.

The button pops up but the pull handle doesn't.

Is there an easy way to release it without damaging anything?

Isn't there enough flex in the bonnet to pull it up once you've popped the other two?

Was too worried it might damage the hole in the service bonnet or the pin.

you can remove the 2 allen bolts that the bonnet hinges on then slide it forward

for the record, I sorted it. The pull flap wasn't popping up enough, I used a very fine screwdriver and it released. A bit of cleaning around the edges and it's working fine again. Just as well really as those allen bolts are practically welded on !
