For the third time I had someone nick my tyre valve covers. What makes these to$$ers think that they can just help themselves....they are out right thief's in my book. If I saw a nice sports car I wouldn't think...oh I'll think I'll just help myself to some of these!

I only parked my car in my local airport to go flying today, so not anywhere near main jo public.

I guess I'm gonna have to get a bag full and replace them every time some to$$er helps themselves.

Arhhhh

Alan.

I ended up putting crappy black plastic ones on mine to avoid having to replace them all the time, but then I had the stereo taken so I guess the valve caps don't seem such a pain. B*stards.

I'd been parked at the side of the road for no more than two minutes when two young lads on bikes came shooting down the road.

"Wow a TVR" exclaimed one,

"Wicked car!", said the other, "Lets nick the dustcaps!"

Thankfully my Superman eye-lasers were in full working order today and they scooted back from whence they came!

Little B45tards!

I've only got 2 of the bloody things left anyway!!!

i had a set nicked off one of my old cars but not with the TVR - having said that its rarely left anywhere other that within sight. I know before the thought of some grubby little scrote walking around to each of my wheels was enough to think it wasnt worth the hassle of having nice shiney ones on there for fear of something else being keyed etc whilst they were doing it

Erm why not get some locking ones?

Alternatively, if you catch them next time cut off one of their hands. That should send out the right message...

I have Richbrook locking ones... you cant shift-em without the appropriate tiny allen key tool (and I tested this out too)... about £15 a set in chrome I think.

Cheers
Matt.

A 10mm spanner helps, but saying that what damage these type of low life would do if they could not remove them is not worth thinking about.

Look on the bright side. You could have been driving
home with square red tyres made of aggregate. They think they have a trophy better than a key down the side. A dust cap is a fair compimise. Kids A

It's happened three time on our Tuscan too...

Here's a little trick: put a tiny bit of cheap Uhu(sp?)/school glue in the valve can and stem. It'll be weak enough to twist off when needed, but a bit more of a struggle for an adhoc 10 year old with a BMX.

My tusc has 16" wheels which came as standard with black plassy crap. Never been nicked.
