Check the two connectors on the back of the display boards, can just be accessed by feel after pulling the steering column forward, or by removing the pod completely. The pod is held on by two dome nuts at the back and two allen key screws at the front, again you'll need the column pulled forward to allow it to be released. When you put it back make sure the cables aren't tight as they pull and flex the board which causes problems. Mine used to go frequently, but managed to last six months now.

This was happening in my Tuscan MK2. I fixed it for a year or so by moving the steering column in and out. However it now only lasts about 20 miles from starting before going blank (or sometimes scrambled), but stopping the car and turning off and on again on the starter button fixes it. My screen and dash ECU have now been sent off to Cath Mason for investigation. Hopefully she can fix it.

Not sure how much help this is but had same issue earlier in the year. With the wheel pushed fully away from driver screen crazed, pulled fully towards driver screen blanked. Halfway in between and it's been faultless.. Car is currently being serviced at straight six with this on the check list, should have it back next week and will share remedy.

Slightly off topic, but does Cath repair all types of ECU`s?. I need the door and window ecu fixed. If so would you provide contact details.

I think most ECUs can be acquired from the major TVR parts suppliers on an exchange basis, i.e. you give them your old one and you get a refurbed one in return. I had a new door ECU from Racing Green in this way. Fernies have removed the various parts of my dash and are sending them to her for me, so unfortunately I don't have her details.

Thanks for the comments gents, predictably after a 20 mile trip on fri night after a blank screen the whole time, got back to the garage switched it off pressed the starter again and the dash came back, tho it looks like i've changed all the settings whilst pressing the buttons blind, thought my change up lights were coming on too quickly, presume all the settings are in the owners handbook!

this happened to me over the weekend, half way through a 150 mile drive, without warning, the display pod 'switched off' at 70mph, which was a little scary.

on arriving at my destination, switched off the ignition, and restarted, pod came on for about 5 seconds, and then went off again, and hasn't reappeared since....

Will have a chat with RG later, but from what I have read on this thread, perhaps fumbling round the back of the steering column might be a start?
