Cleaning tips re Tuscan
Discussion
Well, having posted a few threads earlier last week I am please to say that I bought a Tuscan. I had it checked out by Westover TVR in Poole and they said that it really was one of the good ones.
Keen to give it the full monty makeover with a clay bar and have it Bilt-Hamber'ed for that mirror finish. Any cleaning tips, especially as regards jetwashing around the bonnet area. Don't want to find the car not starting afterwards.
Maybe I am just being panicky!!
Thanks,
Tom
PS - This car blows me away, christ alive it's fast!

Have the spiders refurbed in shadow chrome on the faces blending to black on the insides, look great and hide the brake dust a treat.
Alternatively clean really well and then seal with several layers of a high temperature wax, will still get brake dust showing but it doesnt bind to the wheel as much and they are much easier to clean afterwards.

Would agree with Nick dont use any of the acidic wheel cleaners, if they are bad wash with your usual shampoo and then use a tar remover to get rid of any ingrained brake dust etc. Various options on the wax to use personally Finish Kares BWM1000 Hi Temp but there are various wheel protection waxes out there and as suggested any polish will help.
Hi Tom
I too am a newish Tuscan owner after a few years of should I, shouldn't I?!!
I live in Southampton and work in the motor trade, so I have a few very good contacts in the region. I see you mention Westover, I know them all down there, they are good but expensive! When it is service time try William Street Services in Southampton, the technicians know TVR's like the back of their hand and also own a couple of their own...and the best bit..will do a 6000 serivce for £190.00!
My company has a chain of bodyshops and we employ a paint tech who has worked on TVR's all his life including David Beckhams TVR when he had to custom fit a baby seat for Brooklyn! So if you ever have any bodywork questions, let me know and I will put you in touch with him.
Enjoy your Tuscan and we will have meet up for a ride out some time!

For the wheels I take them off every 6 months give them a good clean on the inside and outside then put 3 coats of Poorboys wheel sealant on

From then on they just need a quick wipe and they are clean again
