Tuscan Convertible Speedo Issues

The Speedo isn't working on my car. I know the obvious thing to do is to get under the car and clean/regap the sensor. However before I jack the car up, I've been thinking it might be another issue. Having read a post by Glow Worm that you could adjust the steering wheel for reach, I tried it out a few weeks ago - and after trying a few different positions, decided I liked it the way it was. I'm pretty sure that was when the speedo stopped working. Could I have pulled something out of the back of the instrument pod by moving the steering column? How many connections are there into the pod? and how do you remove it to check everything is ok?

There are two ribbon cables that go to the dash, they could possibly be disturbed by moving the steering wheel. You can get your hand behind the dash, but it is tight!

Sorry if I was the cause of your problem !!! ... Nick did you ever get the new stalks...or is that an old photo ???

Do you know how to remove the pod? Are there some mounting screws somewhere?

Old photo but still don't have the alloy stalks

There are 5 M6 nuts behind the pod you can just see holes where the studs from the pod go through In the photo.
