Code L message!

Lately, when driving (I think mainly on light throttle) the car has cut-out a few times and displayed Code L message! I have noticed a slight flat spot at around 2K.

I know that code means "Erratic road speed sensor input." Any suggestions why the cars is cutting-out? Any help would be great..

New road speed sensor required? mine went tits up and that's what I needed.
