The car was bought stating air con not fitted. It has now started blowing very cold air at me, I assume this means there must be air con fitted. Is there a qiuck check to confirm air con or is it a bonnet off job. confused

thanks in advance.

Push down on the heater knob and a blue led should come on and nice cool air comes out smile

However some are better than others, mine is quite nice and cold other are a bit like a mouse blowing into the wind, or so I have been told.

Just to add that mine doesn't have aircon frown but the blue light still comes on if I press the temp knob down.

As Daston says, if you feel a clonk and the revs drop a little when you press the switch then you probably have it. The aircon pump is located on the drivers side, in line with the front of the air box if you want to check for sure.

The blue light has been coming on when button pressed, it just that it had never blown cold air which was colder than the outside air. I will check for the drop in revs tomorrow when out.

You can check without bonnet off as i have just retro fitted A/C biggrin
Look in the front grille left top you should see a pipe going to condensor.
Turn on aircon when engine running you should hear a click from the pump engine dops 200 revs.
Or take hood off and look for the parts hehe

Listen for the click as said. And also notice revs dropping dramatically when engine is cold started.

Noticed last week that the oil pressure drops slightly (from 16-17 to 11-12 at idle) when I switch the air con on. When I switch it off, pressure goes back up to normal.. Hope it is related. Has anyone else noticed this, or should I start worrying??

Engine idle speed drops when the aircon pump starts as it loads the engine, hence the drop in oil pressure, I also see a similar drop in pressure.
