Apologies if this has been discussed before - had a search but couldn't see anything...

Does anyone have any idea what kind of noise level (in decibels) a Mk1 Tuscan with standard cans puts out?

Has anyone ever had a problem using their car for track days or am I worrying about nothing?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Paul. Do you think there's any possibility of fluctuations (e.g. 97 or 99)?

I was looking into booking some track-based tuition and was quoted 98db max.

I wouldn't risk it - Just get some cans for it. They often turn guys away and they don't refund!

Thanks. What kind of thing am I looking for? Anything you'd specifically recommend?

If you're anywhere near north Hampshire I'm sure Macey wouldn't mind doing you a sound check as he did for me - 110.5dB cats in and CCC's. 98dB seems a little low and I'm not sure you's make below that. 105 is a bit low in my book and that's the normal limit for track days

Give Tim at ACT Performance Products a call. They supplied me with a pair of track day cans for my rather loud de-catted Tuscan S which got me below the 98dB mark (just). www.actproducts.co.uk

I did some form of basic testing using the drive by method. I found it was virtually the same as static.

Results
No cats and standard blue flame cans- 100
No cats and track day cans 95
Cats and sleeved cans 104, that was a static test at Oulton

A few variants.

Make sure you're well warmed up before they test you too, makes a noticeable difference. (Quieter)
