Not really suprising on a Tuscan forum
for the opposite answer post on the Porsche forum. I toyed with the idea of a 993 before buying the cerb, (now own a Tuscan) the 993 is a very nice, well built car BUT it just didn't have the wow factor (for me) that make every journey in the TVR very special. It really comes down to personal taste, all I could recommend is try them both. If you go for a Tuscan go into it with your eyes open, read all the relavent info on here, speak to owners etc.

I have just made the jump from a 993 to a 2001 Tuscan. Here is what i think so far:
The 993 was and is a great car - good all round performance, comfortable on long jouneys( I do a run from s.wales to maidenhead about once or twice a week)and reliable. Excellent fun on B roads, as long as it was dry!
I was genuingly sad to sell it, but it was one of the original 993's and thus had 90000 miles on the clock. It kept its value extremely well - I bought it privately in 2001 for 27K and sold it 3 years later for 22K and put 30000 miles on it.
The main costs of running it were:
1. Rear tyres every 6000-8000 miles £350
2. Annual service at a specialist, £300 (£600 at main dealer)
3. Over the 3 years I did have to replace a starter motor(£500), Clutch (£600) , Immobiliser (£200) and break sensor (£150).
I paid £28k for the Tuscan.It's an absolutely stunning looking car - a real head turner. I have had people stop and point at it, and some guy on the M4 wound his window down as I drove past him to listen to the noise!! It sounds stunning (hence the guy on the M4). It drives stunning - I can't stop grinning, my face hurts from doing so! I keep making excuses to drive it , it's like a drug, the more you drive it the more you want to drive it.
It's not as comfortable as the 993 on a run. It is not as easy to drive, especially when cold. I get the feeling that it's not going to be as reliable as the 993(though too early to tell). A lot of people on the forum have talked about engine mods for 'finger followers' in particular which scares the hell out of me, so you should research the various threads, look for some of the problems and check to see if the car you are looking at has had these mods - I didn't do my homework , so I am waiting for the history from TVR to find out if mine has had any mods or not. Also, I'm not sure if it will keep its value as well as the 993
In summary, as with any 'supercar', if you are prepared for a few bills throughout the year, and odd little things like the windows winding themselves down whilst doing 100 + on the M4 in the middle of winter, then the Tuscan is an absolutley stunning car, and I not had any regrets in trading in the 993.

Agree with alans, no surprise there
try and get to a meet and find out from the RO a member who will give you a honest face to face opinion,warts and all, posting on here will attract the usual "Tuscans are c**p" from mostly non Tuscan owners 
They are not perfect but nothing else comes close, for the money IMO
