Exhaust sleeving - need ideas
Discussion
Hi Guys n Gals
Epic fail this evening. Sleeved one of my cans, absolute doddle. The second can I can't get off the silencer box stub
Tried heat and tapping the joint around, but it isn't budging at all. clearance is awful and I'm worried about wrecking the can itself or damaging the silencer box so being careful about brute force. Applied penetrating oil as well, but no joy.
Anyone any ideas/experience about how to get it off? I don't think half sleeving means doing one can and not the other
Cheers

I didn't bother to remove mine. Had someone else hold the silencer while I gently tapped the sleeve into place. Very easy.
Thanks for the advice, tried that this evening and went like a dream - literally 2 minutes to tap it in. Shame about the 3 hours on friday trying to remove the can.All ready for the classic next weeeknd now.

P.S. hows the noise?
I think
just about covers it. Best part is a neighbour saw me under the car on the Friday and wanderd over to see if he could help. Two hours later I let him go back home, as he left he then asked why I was trying to get it off, so I told him. Didn't seem interested to help on Sunday

ok, now in le mans having used the car in anger with the exhausts and ..... Wow.
Not too different at idle, but above 2500 it really snarls and loads of pops on the over run - cats still in.
Used 2" od tube. Really easy, but make sure you want to be this obvious - stealth isn't an option.
Let me know if you want to know where i got the tube from.
