Dark LCD display

Hi guys,

My LCD display has been acting up recently. On ignition its fine nice yellow/green background and dark figures against it. However once the engine is running the back ground gets darker until there is a dark box that almost hides the figures.

Is this signs of it giving up the ghost or not enough power being fed to it?

Try adjusting the contrast mate...my new one did this when first fitted...
