I wouldn't have said so. When I swapped my old factory fit cans for the Carbon Can options, the old ones came off quite easily - just a little bit of twisting & wiggling, and they worked loose, WD40 did the trick for me. Don't forget to give the retaining "U" bracket a squirt of WD40 as well, before trying to undo it.
Mine were a complete bu%^er. Both clamps broke off in my hands and both original cans were locked solid, made a metal plate to protect the body work then blasted them with heat and wiggled them wearing gloves until they worked lose, took about 30 mins per side. After cleaning up the pipes I fitted my new loud carbon can co's, sorted!

Ps. Whilst you're there check the welds where the pipe joins the box as they do require re-welding from time to time!

I suspect trying to get old cans off helps the welds fail!
