Four year old car, say 50% of new cost therefore £23K - this seems about right given others experiences on here.
PS It's a lovely car particularly the interior - I can easily see why you're smitten - good luck!
Ah craaaaaaap. I've got to agree with Jigs on the price now.

Seriously, I'd say about £23-23.5k private if it all checks out (depending on when the engine rebuild was, etc). And £26k dealer. Not the £29k that's being asked for. "What it's worth" and "what you'll have to pay to get it" are very different things, though. I'd expect them not to actually sell it for 26... more like £27.5k, and throw in 24 months cover (assuming some numpty doesn't just hand over £29k). Overpriced? Yes. Are they desperate enough to sell it to drop the price by £3k? Doubt it.

Spot on. I said 22k. then you'll only loose about 2k this year. IMHO
Oh and the warranty's are not worth the paper they are writ on

well spotted!!! 16" rims apparently.... gutted so that's at least another £600 in wheels!
Depends! Got 2nd hand 18" spider rims for my Cerb for £250. You'll probably be able to sell those off (with good tyres) for £350+. Then you're talking another £350 in tyres for yourself. That's assuming you're good at wheeling and dealing. If you just "have to have some" your figure is probably much closer.

If they are asking £29k they will take £26k which is about right for a dealer.
I've never tried really haggling with a TVR dealer to see what they'll come down by - are they really willing to knock 10% off? I had a bit of a play with Hawthorns, and only managed to get £1.5k off (maybe not the best example).
Slythgoe - regarding the 6 month warranty being offered - read poor Dazzlar's story about his Speed Six engined Cerbera on the Cerbera forum (thread titled 'Have Warranty ----') £10K for a new Speed Six engine and the warranty company refusing to cover it - better to be wise before the event than sorry afterwards.
One thing that I always find interesting is the way that people on these forums regularly value the cars much lower than they're actually sold for. I'm not trying to start an argument and say anyone's wrong about the value (rather than price), but if that car is up at £29k, I'll bet that if they keep turning down £24-26k offers, it'll go for £27-28k but just take a bit longer to sell. It's the same in the Cerbera forum (and on lots of other sites) - every time the question gets asked, owners/"knowledgeable" people try to knock another few £k off the price.
I think it's the difference between getting a bl**dy good deal, and paying the going rate. Sometimes you'll get a deal, sometimes there's no deal to be done. Depends on the seller. Personally, I got a "deal" on my Cerbera (the lowest price it could've been), and paid more like "the going rate" on the Tuscan. Neither of which I can be unhappy with. Again, not trying to start an argument or disagree with anyone, just find economically/sociologically fascinating. (I should get out more

Very true. An item is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. Take an auction for example, sometimes a buyer gets an absolute bargain (in their eyes), other times items go for unexpectedly high prices. Its down to so many different factors, it is very difficult to say what the outcome of a negotiation will be.
I've not seen the car in question so I would not like to comment on the price. It could be stone chipped badly, it may smell of damp or it could be absolutely factory fresh. In general however, £29K is high, I'd agree with that. Should probably take £25K as a middle of the road price and go either way from there. That's a little lower than Tuscans are being advertised for in Sprint etc of that era.

As I said before £26K Dealer. Good mileage at 14,000 IF the engine has been rebuilt and the dealer has stamped the book, and it was run in for 1000 miles afterwards and not just blatted around the roads...
So many variables. There should be some good Tuscan's come up for sale soon, as the sunny weather comes out, so you dont HAVE to buy this one...
Personaly, I didn't like the colour, but there is no accounting for taste

Very important point... although we all eventually sell our cars, that's not the reason we buy them (unless your name's Agger

Now, how can I get "Zenith blue" to turn into "Desert Moondust"...
I got it, I got it, I got it!!!!!!!!!
7 hours drive back from Edinburgh to sunny Earlsfield and I smiled all the way... in fact no! that's wrong! I chuckled, laughed, cheered and wooped most of the way! This truly is the only car I've ever driven to give me the same rush as my Ducati!
Holy crap... if it was legal I'd marry it!!!
Stay tuned as I'm going to have loads of questions for you nice folks and I want to know all about meets etc... I'm going to throw myself into TVR world head first!... is my excited coming through in this?
