Sleepy Speedo

Of late my speedo hasn't been coming to life until after about 20 mins driving? What's causing this? Is the transducer on the way out or does it just need a clean and the trigger wheel gap re-adjusting?

When mine stopped working it was too tight a fit between the motor drive wheel and needle wheel, but that was after I had moved it to fit a new screen

Try cleaning the toothed wheel on the differential output, and any particles stuck to the sensor then set to 0.75-1mm gap

Cheers, I'll get it up on the ramps and give that a go.

Update:
Cleaned the trigger wheel and transducer face and re-adjusted the gap (it was about 2.5mm!!) and the speedo began working again. Another good thing is that the speedo needle operation is now nice, smooth and steady where it never has been ever since I've owned it. I'm guessing it's always been wrongly adjusted hence the shakey speedo needle.
