Newbie with a few upgrades !

Howdy one and all
Having had my 4lt MK1 Tuscan for 3 weeks now i thought i really should say hi.
I absolutely love the car and am still getting to grips with it , i have an E46 M3 convertible as my daily driver so the TVR is purely a weekend car but my my does it make me smile ! i never realised just how lively they can be if not shown the respect so im taking it easy until i know her a bit better. so far ive cleaned her up nicely and i fancied a few cosmetic changes ( safety too )
So this is the list of upgrades i have put in this week .....

6k H.I.Ds
LED sidelights
New sidelight casings
New clear indicators
New Rear Plate Bulb Holders with Xenon white bulbs
New Wiper arms with Bosch twin Aero blades ( 21 , 19 )
New Loud CCC's
New Raceproven rear screen clips

well thats all so far but my next purchase will be decats ( Edward Quick ) and i was wondering if anyone knows what bore size i need ??

Anyway may i just say how helpful this forum has been so far and i look forward to being an active member. Top work guys

Welcome and enjoy, makes the E46 seem tame/safe doesn't it!

If you need to know anything then just ask, there are some great guys on here and a few of us newbies.

I'd fit the spacers, did mine a few weeks ago and they are on ebay from SP performance.

Where did you get your clear lenses from?

Check your auxilary charging point and battery as well, mine was in a right state.

almost everything so far has been due to swotting up on here and My tuscan website so very helpful.

The clear lenses were from clever trevor and were £96+ vat for the pair

Which HID`s did you get and from where?, I see so many on Ebay and never know which are correct. Your list includes many of my list of upgrades. Great cars we must look after them.

Welcome. Had my mk1 for a week so I'm a bit of a newbie also.

What do you think performance wise compared to your M3?

Checking the Anderson connection is a good shout as they have been known to cause engine fires if faulty. Mine is in for a service at the min & I'm having it replaced.

The HIDS were the H7 50w 6000k and the difference is huge , very worthwhile upgrade !

All the other bits and bobs were from clever trevor.

My M3 isnt standard by any means but the tuscan is quicker , having said that i do think it would hold up quite well on a long straight. i just dont trust anyone enough to let them test it though

I had two sets of HID's in the garage from fleebay, they were off my E65 730d that I modded for better light.

I have had no problems with them at all, there is some comments that they kill the LCD, but my LCD was dead anyway (another story), so I fitted them and it was all good. They make night driving much better.

Fantastic upgrade and no flashing from other people. In the event that the MOT tester fails them, carry the halogens in the car and retrofit for the test.

The M3 is a quick car and I have driven a supercharged one with 500hp, but it didn't feel as raw as the TVR. Great car and very rapid, and a perfect day to day car but just not as raw. Different tools for different jobs. In fact I am tempted by one of the new v8 ones. With them both in the garage I know which one will be a head decision and which one is a heart decision! I get back from driving the Tuscan and I am like ' that was just so good', things fall off, and the trim doesn't stick and you'll have to rebuild most of it from scratch but it is soooooo good when it works........

Totally agree !

i have to say the M3 is a truly great car. the fact that you can do pretty much everything in it from 180+ mph on the autobahn to 25 mph in city traffic and it is more than happy is a credit to the car.

I bought the tuscan because ive loved it since i first saw it, yes i knew some had problems and yes i knew it could and maybe will go wrong but that was imaterial to me as it was a heart choice not a head one. To me it was something i simply had to have and i absolutely love it !!!

Driving around in the M3 is great and i really do love the car but at the moment all i keep thinking is i hope the roads are dry tomorrow as the Tuscan could do with a run ......
