Folks bit of help needed. I want to be able to jump start my Tuscan using a power pack via the anderson connector. Idea is to charge the power pack at home and then plug it in to the car at the lock up. No power in the lock up hence the requirement. I've looked on the Leven site but am unsure what I need? Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers.

I have the same problem.

I used to use a second car battery (similar size to the one in the car) and just connected it to the car via the Anderson plug and the jump leads. Wouldn't start the car if the in-car battery was dead but certainly helped.

I have now built a small power pack that sits in the garage permanently, that plugs into the Anderson plug to keep the in-car battery topped up. Using a couple of (old) car batteries an Anderson plug and some 10mm electric cable.

I swap the batteries back home periodically to put on charge overnight.

Best solution with a TVR though is to use it…. or you’ll lose it.

Thanks, that sounds ideal. When you say 2 batteries are these connected using the 10mm cable giving a double battery pack? Agree with the use it or lose it unfortunately the snow ensured I couldn't open the garage door- booger.

i found out that the big power-waster was my alarm.
so leaving the alarm off when sitting in the garage was the way to go
no more empty batterý
and if you let it sit for a long time you'll need an accumate

Agree with that Rens, I don't tend to alarm it. Normally it gets a run out every couple of weeks but unfortunately the snow prevented me getting the garage door open so it sat for 5 weeks. It almost turned over so had held up well just not quite enough left. It's got a built in charger in the boot but I've got no power in the garage.

I'm able to run an extension lead to my garage occasionally to charge the pack, so I connect the 2 batteries together with the 10mm cable. I've also made another jump connector, with an Anderson at one end and the other end permanently fixed to the 2 batteries, again with the 10mm cable (170amp so capable of a full power 'jump').

In your case I would suggest one battery in the garage connected to the car (Anderson plug and 10mm cable etc), and the other one charged up at home. When you go to the garage you swap them over. Take the one in the garage home to charge, leaving the other to 'back up' the in car battery until next time, etc.

I used only one battery for over a year and worked well, the second battery just became available and it seemed rude not to use it ;-)

Like the sound of not having the alarm draining the battery. Might sound like a dumb question but is there any way you can lock the car without having the alarm activate?
