I went for a blat in the sunny weather today and got caught up in traffic, cue much steam coming from under bonnet and Temp of 102.

I checked the fans and they were not working, and come to think of it ever since I have had the car I have never really heard the fans kick in like I did with my Chimaera, so they may have never worked but seeing as my engine temperature rarely gets above 85 it has not been a problem. I have checked the fuses and relays and they seem to be fine. Any ideas?

Can't really help on this one cos I ain't got a Tuscan YET!

But for peace of mind what about getting an LED fitted so that when the fans do come on you'll have a tell tale.

Got this on my Chim in conjunction with the fan override switch.

Cooling fans on the Tuscan are switched on/off by the ECU the first one cuts in at 94 Deg.C and the second at 96 Deg.C.So if fuses & relays are OK then it's a possibly a temperature sensor problem which can't be over ridden like the otter switch fitted on Chimaeras.

Check your fuses I had this prob and that was the cause. There are 2 which can be identified in the handbook. Hope thats all it is.

You should have kept the Chim(only kidding) I've had miles of fun this weekend. Its a great car. By the way just to put your mind at rest, the starting problem has disappeared. It was a one off. Must have just been a blip. All the best.
