Having only picked up the car from Gorners on Thursday I was looking forward to a week of pushing up the revs and really seeing what she can do. Got a call at five this morning from my nightporter who had gone out to see why the alarm was going and he disturbed two fu$%ers attempting to steal the radio. So now after a smashed passenger window, smashed passenger mirror, extensive screwdriver damage to the aluminuim door button surround, torn leather dash and glass everywhere, the car is on a trailer back to Wigan for god knows how long. Was looking forward to taking my soon-to-be godson to his christening tomorrow but I suppose wan*ers like that do not consider how they affect people. Nothing was taken thanks to my porter and there doesnt seem to be any paintwork damage (the smallest of silver linings). Not very happy.

ers! I can't describe the contempt I feel for these people!
However you really shouldn't leave temptation like that around. I assume your radio fascia comes off? Even if you just hide it in the door well, scumbags will generally not attempt to nick a stereo unless the front is on view, as it is rather useless without it.

Bad news. I've also had mine done (about a week ago). Similar scenareo: underground parking, scumbags jacked open the security gate to the parking and went to work on my pride and joy. Similar damage, some chips to paintwork.
If you are not going down the full insurance claim route you may be able to claim for the side window without effecting your no claims bonus (you pay £50) if you use an approved fitter (for your insurance).
Also, I'm sure that you are already on the case, however if not get your order in for glass ASAP as there is a significant backlog on orders for the glass (TVR dealers may have some in stock ready to fit and should be able to deliver to Autoglass / similar co).
Hope it gets sorted soon.

Sorry to hear about that, Nizza.
Take some small comfort in the fact that at least you have a decent porter.
I have a similar get up; underground communal parking, 24 hr porterage, cc tv. Yet one Sunday I wake up to find a bunch of residents gathered around the security lodge, watching a last night's cc tv of a lad walking into the car park, hotwiring a resident's moped, breaking into a car, stealing a sportsbag and radio, and then ride completely round the carpark stopping periodically to smash each car window and stuff the stereo/cd player/etc in the bag.
And where was the security guard during this escapade? "I must have nodded off for a minute" was the brave retort.
Sorry to hear about your damage; but shake your porter by the hand, mate. I wish mine were half his salt.

We and left a piece of paper in the window saying "this car has no stereo and no valuables in it". A month or so after putting the sign in, we came back to find the windows smashed in and scrawled beneath the sign "just checking". [quote]
This is terrible. And yet...I can't stop laughing at the "just checking" bit.

's ok... we can all laugh about it now - it's a good 10/15 years ago.
