Hi,
just been reading through alot of the threads as I am wishing / hopeing to have the tiv retrimmed and resprayed later this year.I would like a top quality full respray ,and wonder which order this work should be carried out in. retrim or respray first.Does it really matter ? .Any advice on approx cost for these works and any reccommends where to have the works done would be appreciated.I was thinking approx £2500 for respray and simular for full retrim, would this be about right?
Present colour is porsche silver which i will probably keep the same ,interior in good cond presently portland blue and grey, and would like full rettrim poss diff colour to include dash door cards, quality carpets ect..
All help advice appreciated .

Paint first, strip the interior out, doors, bonnet boot roof lights scuttle mirrors etc paint them off, strip nearly to the bone, just engine and box and dash left and screen left in. the only way to go. well worth the extra work.
Take heater, air box and radiator out to black or color code engine bay.

interior can be sent off in the mean time or done at a later date, What about fitting the seats that were an option on the newer mk2.3s ?? any grill/splitter or light upgrades can be done before paint

Your figures are well over what you need to spend in my opinion. although some camilien colors can be £600 per litre just for the paint from tvr (other camilien colors non tvr are cheaper option).

Dont forget to treat the wheels to complete the job.

Take it to Surface & Design/D& C Trim at the old TVR factory in Bristol Avenue, interior and exterior can be done at the same time..... But it will be expensive, to get the lot done.... I'd do the exterior and get the bonnet hinged smile

I would be thinking more likely to be £3k for respray and same again for the retrim. As you're in Cheshire I would suggest Ryan at SP Automotive in Tattenhall for the respray and Martin at Martrim for the retrim. They did my Tuscan.

I was quoted £3700 at D&C trim for complete interior retrim (in beginning of March) and around £2700 (less paint) by Surface and Design for respray. S&D did the conversion to my bonnet and may I say did a great job, and would use them for the respray.
